Pride is one of Africa’s largest LGBTQ+ events. To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all involved, we welcome volunteers with prior event or community experience. If you’re new to this, don’t worry, we still encourage you to apply!

Rules & Volunteer Agreement

By submitting this form, you agree to the following:

1. Volunteering is an unpaid role, but Johannesburg Pride offers various benefits, including event access, exclusive areas, and tokens of appreciation.

2. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and provide a valid ID.

3. You are expected to behave respectfully, professionally and uphold the values of inclusivity and safety.

4. All volunteers must attend a briefing or orientation session prior to the event.

5. Johannesburg Pride reserves the right to reassign or remove any volunteer for any reason related to safety, attitude, or commitment.

6. You must be punctual, follow your coordinator’s instructions, and work your full assigned shift.

7. Volunteers are representatives of Pride — please treat all community members and guests with care.

8. You consent to being contacted for future Pride-related opportunities (you can opt-out anytime).
9. Please note that a volunteer position is NOT guaranteed. Only candidates who best meet the requirements will be contacted for a follow-up interview.
10. Due to the high volume of applications, we kindly ask for your patience. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, closer to the month of October.

As a thank-you, all confirmed volunteers may receive: (at the discretion of the event organisers)

- Free access to the event you’re volunteering for (if it's a paid event)
- Entry for up to two friends or guests (where applicable)
- Access to VIP or crew areas, depending your role
- Volunteer lanyards or pins, where available
